Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde,
Wir schreiben immer noch das Jahr 2026 und somit immer noch: 20 Jahre Get Well Soon! Das ist ein Jubiläum und kein Verfallsdatum. Daher: nur einen Monat nach der wunderbaren Minus-The-Magic-Tour gibt es schon wieder einige Neuigkeiten. Im fortgeschrittenen Alter sollte man ohnehin die Lebenszeichen in kürzeren Abständen verschicken. Sonst macht sich noch jemand Sorgen.
Also hier bitte… Neuigkeiten:
Ein neues Album.
Ein neuer Song.
Eine Tour.
Und vor allem die Gelegenheit, euch Danke zu sagen.
Aber chronologisch.
Wie großartig wart ihr bitte im Juni?! Ausverkaufte Konzerte, großartige Stimmung (trotz meist schlechten Klimas) und wunderbare Gespräche danach. Deshalb: Danke, dass ihr gekommen seid. Danke fürs Zuhören. Danke dafür, dass nach zwanzig Jahren immer noch Menschen freiwillig mehrere Stunden ihres Lebens mit uns und unserer Musik verbringen. Das ist alles andere als selbstverständlich.

Nun zum nächsten Kapitel.
Am 30. Oktober erscheint das siebte Album von Get Well Soon. Es heißt SÉANCE.

Also: Für einen Technik- und Wissenschaftsunbegabten wie mich, ist es ja gar nicht so leicht sich in der modernen Welt zurecht zu finden. Also nutze ich das „Tool“, das mir zur Verfügung steht und schreibe Songs darüber. Anstatt meinem ersten Impuls zu folgen und das ganze Thema pauschal zu verteufeln, habe ich es einfach versucht. Ich wollte eine Haltung dazu finden. Also ein KI-Album.
Für diejenigen, die immer noch weiter lesen, habe ich eine gute und eine gute Nachricht
(Wo bekommt man das heutzutage noch? Außer bei Get Well Soon™️):
1.Das Experiment ist ist gescheitert
2. Das Album gibt es trotzdem.
Nur ist es keines mit, sondern eines über KI geworden.
Wie der Name SÉANCE schon andeutet wurde mir schnell klar: Mit einem Sprachmodell zu arbeiten hat ziemlich viel mit Geisterbeschwörung gemeinsam. Arthur C. Clarke meinte einmal: „Jede hinreichend fortgeschrittene Technologie ist von Magie nicht zu unterscheiden.“ Für mich jedenfalls nicht! So ist SÉANCEein Album voller Gespenster. Ich würde fast sagen: Es ist mein Gothic-Album.
Passend dazu erscheint heute bereits der erste Song daraus: “Goth 101”.
Goth 101 hier überall streamen!
Der Song handelt von der beliebtesten Frage unserer Zeit - privat wie öffentlich: Führt KI uns in eine goldene Zukunft oder ist sie der Untergang der Menschheit? So pathetisch, philosophisch und „gothic“ waren die Stammtische lange nicht! Gruselig wird es immer dann, wenn eine bestehende Ordnung plötzlich nicht mehr verlässlich ist.
Es ist der erste Song auf dem Album SÉANCE und es gibt sehr viel dazu zu erzählen und gerne auch zu diskutieren. Aber zu viel Licht will ich noch nicht ins Dunkel bringen. Wir brauchen noch etwas Suspense.. Aber holt den Kajal schon mal raus!

Natürlich spielen wir die neuen Stücke, aber wir wollen den Geburtstag auch nicht völlig ignorieren. Deshalb wird es neben SÉANCE auch einen ausgedehnten Streifzug durch zwei Jahrzehnte Get Well Soon geben. So richtig Best-Of! Da wir das selbst immer schlecht beurteilen können, dürft ihr gerne Songwünsche äußern. Antwortet einfach auf diese Email

Dear Humans,
It is still the year 2026 and therefore still: 20 years of Get Well Soon! That’s an anniversary, not an expiration date. Which is why, only one month after the wonderful Minus-The-Magic Tour, we’re already back with more news. At our age, it’s probably wise to send signs of life a little more frequently. Otherwise people might start to worry.
So… here it goes.
A new album.
A new song.
A tour.
And, most importantly, a chance to say thank you.
But let’s do this chronologically.
First of all: how wonderful were you in June?!
Sold-out shows, amazing audiences (despite mostly terrible climate), and so many lovely conversations afterwards. Thank you for coming. Thank you for listening. Thank you for willingly spending several hours of your lives with us and our music after twenty years. None of this feels remotely like something to be taken for granted.
Thank you.
Now for the next chapter.
On October 30, Get Well Soon’s seventh album will be released. It’s called SÉANCE.

See, for someone as technologically and scientifically illiterate as myself, navigating the modern world doesn’t exactly come naturally. So I did what I know how to do: I wrote songs about it. Instead of following my first impulse and condemning the whole thing outright, I thought I’d give it a try. I wanted to figure out what I actually thought about it.
In other words: an AI album.
For those of you who are still reading, I have one piece of good news and another piece of good news. (Where else do you get that these days? Apart from Get Well Soon™.)
1. The experiment failed.
2. The album still exists.
It just turned into an album about AI rather than one made with AI.
As the title SÉANCE already suggests, it didn’t take long before I realised that working with a language model has much more in common with communicating with the dead than with using a piece of software. Arthur C. Clarke famously wrote: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Not in my experience. To me, it felt much more like a séance.
So SÉANCE became an album full of ghosts. I’d almost call it my Gothic album.
The song revolves around the most popular question of our time, both in public and in private: will AI lead us into a golden future, or bring about the end of humanity?
It’s been a long time since conversations around the dinner table have been this philosophical, this melodramatic… and this gothic.
Things become truly unsettling whenever the order of the world suddenly stops feeling reliable.
“Goth 101” is only the beginning of SÉANCE, and there’s so much more to tell — and hopefully to discuss. But I don’t want to shine too much light into the darkness just yet. We still need a little suspense. In the meantime, you might as well get your eyeliner ready.

Some shows have already been announced, tickets are already on sale, and the itinerary keeps growing.
Of course we’ll be playing the new songs, but it would have seemed rude to completely ignore our twentieth birthday. So alongside SÉANCE, we’ll also be taking a rather extensive trip through two decades of Get Well Soon. A proper Best Of.
Since we’re notoriously bad at deciding what our best songs actually are, we’d be delighted to hear your requests.
